About Roofing Underlays
Securing your roof space is an important part of protecting the structure and energy efficiency of your whole build. Our range of roofing underlays, also known as roof underlayments, are purposefully designed to provide an essential secondary line of defence against water entry whilst absorbing any condensation that forms beneath your roof cladding. Fire retardant, airtight and vapour permeable, our advanced synthetic underlays ensure moisture can escape from your roof space in a stable protective layer that is both tear and shrink-resistant. Self-supporting and available in rolls of different sizes, they are easy to lay and can also be used to line walls and ceilings.

Thermakraft Covertek Roofing Underlays
Covertek 405 is a premium synthetic roof and wall underlay designed as a means of managing condensation, water vapour transfer and water ingress. It is self-supporting, stable and shrink. For a stronger solution, upgrade to Covertek 407 which is fire retardant and can be used in applications where the roof pitch is 3° and above. resistant and can be installed in applications where the roof pitch is 3° and above.

DriStud Roofing Underlays
A premium 150gsm Roof Underlay, the DriStud FRU36 is a white synthetic tri-laminate that is water resistant, vapour permeable and fire retardant. Self-supporting, it is intended for use on new and existing buildings in wind zones up to and including ‘Extra High’. For a heavier duty option choose the 220gsm duty Roof Underlay, the DriStud FRU38. This underlay has a thicker membrane as well as the same benefits offered by the FRU36 option.

COVERTEK 405 ROOF UNDERLAY
Covertek 405 is just one of the many roof underlays available from Thermakraft. It is fire retardant, tear resistant and self-supporting. Suitable for both timber and steel framed buildings, it can also be used as a wall underlay with non-absorbent wall claddings (metal or plastic). It is effective in providing temporary weather protection for roofs for up to 7 days. If you’re using the Thermakraft OneWrap system, you will be provided with Covertek 403 – a light weight roof and wall underlay. This solution will also provide up to 7 days of weather protection but is not self-supporting.
